The New England Patriots are a professional American football team based in Foxborough, Massachusetts. The franchise was established in 1959 as the Boston Patriots. It joined the American Football League (AFL) before becoming part of the National Football League (NFL) during its merger with AFL in 1970.
Despite struggling to find success early on, things began to turn around for the Patriots when they drafted quarterback Tom Brady in 2000. Under his leadership, along with head coach Bill Belichick, they went on to become one of the NFL's most dominant teams over two decades.
Since then, they have won six Super Bowl championships—tied for most all-time alongside the Pittsburgh Steelers—and ten conference titles while making it into the playoffs twenty times since their first appearance in 1976.
With an illustrious history behind them and a strong fanbase supporting them every step of the way, there is no doubt that this year's team will be looking to add another chapter to their already impressive legacy.
