The Tennessee Titans are a professional American football team based in Nashville, Tennessee. They compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the AFC South division. The franchise was founded in 1960 as the Houston Oilers and moved to Tennessee in 1997, where they became known as the "Tennessee Oilers" for one season before changing their name to the current "Tennessee Titans."
The team has had some notable successes throughout its history, including winning two AFL championships before joining the NFL and making it to Super Bowl XXIV during the 1999-2000 season. Led by quarterback Steve McNair and running back Eddie George, they came up just short against Kurt Warner's St. Louis Rams.
Today, under head coach Mike Vrabel's leadership, the Titans continue to be competitive contenders within their division, with star players such as Derrick Henry at running back and A.J Brown at wide receiver leading their offense while defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons anchors their defense.
